Rum Explorer Trinidad is produced in Trinidad at the TDL distillery. It is selected and bottled by the independent bottler Château du Breuil. It is distilled from molasses and aged for 5 years. The rum has an alcohol content of 41%. 22 community members have rated this rum with an average score of 7.4/10. The rum smells of wood, dried fruit and cocoa, and on the palate there are notes of orange peel, fruit and clove. Distilled by Angostura but imported, refined and bottled by Château du Breuil, Rum Explorer Trinidad manages to balance brightness and depth, using each to lift the other. It is a highly acrobatic manoeuvre that speaks of attention to quality and craftsmanship. Château du Breuil's cellar master refines the Angostura rum first in Madeira casks, which harmonises the flavours and gives it body and aromatic power, and then in former Bourbon casks, which soften the rum.
