These distilleries are often located in the coastal areas of Australia, where the climate is favourable for rum production. The best-known Australian rum has been produced since 1884 in Queensland. This rum is made from local sugar cane and aged in American oak barrels, resulting in a rich aromatic profile. Intense amber. The nose is light at first, followed by a bouquet of flowers and spices. On the palate, intense vanilla and citron, before opening into an expression of flowers (iris) and notes of liquorice, honey, cocoa and cinnamon. A broad, silky finish with excellent persistence.
