What is specific about this Mavrud is that the vineyard is 65 years old and over 85% of it is the old Mavrud clone, which has smaller berries and produces a deeper colour, an explosive aroma and a powerful body. The wine has an inky purple colour with violet notes. From the very first nose – a strong presence of black pepper, forest herbs, thyme, blackcurrant, raspberries, blueberries and small red and black forest fruits. A juicy and fruity wine with a full body and very pleasant freshness that comes from the higher acidity, which keeps the wine taut and suitable for bottle ageing.
