A great single-vintage Calvados from the prestigious and historic producer Château du Breuil. This distillery is centred around a 16th-century château that was once the site of a cheese and chocolate factory. They have been producing Calvados here since the middle of the 20th century. The apples for this spirit are grown in the Estate's 42-hectare orchard, located entirely in the Pays d'Auge region. The apples used for this bottling are the product of a single harvest: 2001. With this vintage series, the Château bottles only years of significant quality, such as 2002, which is said to have a perfect balance between apple and wood. The bottling offers aromas of bright tart apple, gentle vanilla, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, light anise and more unusual flavours of citrus peel, milk chocolate, cigar smoke and green grape. It is this unique profile that marks this vintage as superb. A delicious bottling, beautifully presented with a traditional cork, string and wax seal.
