On the nose we find fresh red fruit on the attack, such as cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, but with a certain twist, darker fruit also comes forward, and we sense herbs and a little leather. A very pleasant, fruity, somewhat velvety mouthfeel, and here the fruit tones, complemented by good acidity and a touch of oak, return nicely, with a long finish and good body. The crossed-out label of Casa Rojo's Viñas Bastardas symbolises the unique vineyards outside the official wine regions. It highlights their exceptional quality despite the lack of official recognition.
